You have likely had time to peruse the hot tub rental FAQ page which has answered most of your hot tub rental questions. If not check it out. This page will go a little more in depth with questions customers have asked us during our seven years of renting hot tubs. If you are new to renting hot tubs you likely don't know anything about how it works and are possibly a little nervous about. Relax, hot tub rentals are pretty simple but there are a few things you should know.
Liability
Most hot tub rental companies will carry liability insurance against personal injury or property damage arising from the use of their product on your property. This insurance would cover you against these damages if it was determined that it resulted from negligence on the part of the owner or employees or a defective product. When you rent a hot tub be sure to ask if they do have insurance for their business. Larger companies suchas swimming pool and spa companies will be covered by their blanket business insurance but smaller independant companies might not be covered.
Your responsibility
On the other side of the fence in the liabiity issues is your responsibity. While you expect the rental company to cover you with their insurance, likewise the hot tub rental company expects coverage from you. Yes, you will have to sign a waiver stating that you will behave responsibly while in possession of their hot tub. As the owner of a hot tub rental business I can tell you that there is no small amount of concern over how people will behave when you leave. Of course you are going to have a party with the hot tub but be aware that you are responsible. A standard rental agreement will contain some basic terms suchas:
-
you, the person signing, are responsible for the hot tub while in it's possession
-
if you have health issues a doctors permission in necessary before entering the hot tub
-
children must be supervised at all time while around the hot tub
-
you will take due care to maintain the hot tub in it's original condition.
-
damage amounts will be listed in case of damages and yes, you will be held liable for damages other than that which could be expected from routine use. Translation: small marks and tears will happen due to normal use. Broken lids, ripped liners, beer bottles and cigarette butts in the tub indicate that you have been a moron and you will pay.
-
no alcohol is to be consummed while in the hot tub. Everyone laughs at this one but if you pass out and drown or step on your broken beer bottle it is your fault
Different companies will put in their specific clauses also but these are universal terms. To see a copy of our rental agreement click here.

They can be lifted over fences and are easily transported. To find a Softub dealer near you click here.

Trailer mounted hot tubs
These hot tubs are generally larger and heavier. They are mounted on a trailer which is where they must stay so they are limited to where there is room to place it and by the access to the area. They will accomodate up to 20 or 25 people and will have larger heater and pumps. Often they are heated with propane which maintains the water temperature better than 110 volt electrical. These hot tubs are popular for team parties and neighbourhood getogethers.
Cost
Most hot tub rental companies will rent hot tubs by the weekend or week with some doing monthly or seasonal rentals. Prices range quite a bit but generally weekend rentals will cost $250.00 to $350.00 and weekly costing $275 to $400.00. Seasonal rentals are usually at the discretion of individual companies.
